EXTENSION OF THE USE OF THE OLD STYLE “TEMPS AND DEMOS”
The length of this extension has not yet been determined. This means that if you do have the old style METAL STRIP TEMP TAG or the old style BLUE AND YELLOW DEMO TAG – YOU MAY CONTINUE TO USE THEM UNTIL ADVISED OTERWISE.
The NMIADA suggest that those of you that are currently using the new system continue to do so. If you are ready to transition to the new system it is still in your best interest to do so as soon as possible.
Law enforcement statewide has been notified of this extension; however, attached to this bulletin is an official letter from the State of New Mexico that should be copied and placed in every vehicle that you put on the road as delivered or for demonstration. This will serve to notify a law enforcement agency of this extension in instances where an officer has not yet been notified of this extension. You should make all employees and all consumers aware of the extension and aware of the letter placed within the vehicle.
As soon as the NMIADA has been advised by the state as to the termination date for the use of the old style tags we will notify you.
